I’m so glad you are here! My name is Jo-Anne DeGiacomo Petrie, Manager of Operations at RIAEYC/BrightStars. As a children’s author, mother of three grown children, and more than 30 years of experience in the field of Early Childhood Education I am thrilled to be a part of the BrightStars team and introducing you to our blog.
The intent of our blog is to share the latest information related to the early care and education field, share tips and resources to help with the BrightStars process and to highlight the BrightStars programs committed to quality. The common thread amongst programs across the state is embedded in the mission of BrightStars where the focus is for child care providers and families to learn about best practices in early learning and how to apply them to the care children receive.
Here are some ideas that we might cover in the future:
- Activities for school-age children
- Sensory play
- Upcoming Conferences
- Research articles
- Websites you LOVE!
- Lesson plans/ideas
- Socialization
- Physical health and motor development
- Social and emotional development
- Language and literacy
- BrightStars programs highlights
- And more!
We look forward to sharing information with you all!
Warmly,
Jo-Anne DeGiacomo Petrie, M.Ed and the BrightStars Team!
