Position Description:
We follow a co-teaching model of instruction and our curriculum is based on the RIELDS and NAEYC with an emphasis on learning through play. In the role of co-teacher in our Monday Club classroom, responsibilities range from instructing pre-k children in the nine domains of the RIELDS to planning and contributing to the upkeep of the classroom environment and learning centers. Various other duties are included. A Bachelor’s Degree/Certification in Early Childhood Education is required.
Along with this position, you would be considered our building substitute and would have first opportunity for substitute teaching positions.
This role could lead to other classroom teaching permanent positions over time.
Qualifications:
Must complete DCYF CANTS clearance, Comprehensive Background Check, Must obtain CPR/First Aid Certification within 30 days of employment and complete DHS/CELP Health and Safety training within 90 days of employment. A Bachelor’s Degree/Certification in Early Childhood Education is required.

Barrington Early Childhood Center is a non-profit preschool which offers developmentally appropriate Preschool and Pre-k in Barrington, RI. We have been in the community for over 40 years.
We follow the academic calendar from September to early June, but some summer hours are required for classroom maintenance and preparation. Class size is limited to 18 children with 2 teachers. The hours for this position are Mondays from 8:30 to 2:30 however other mandatory hours include: time for preparation of classroom materials and set up, the attendance of all staff meetings, team meetings , orientations, and other school functions as required. 12 hours of professional development are also required annually per licensing regulations. This is considered a part time position with no health benefits. The rate is hourly, not salaried.
