Position Description:
· Preparation of meals and snacks for preschool children in accordance with established guidelines for safe food handling, preparation, holding and storage
· Ability to follow the approved menu, ensuring compliance with the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program guidelines and regulations
· Maintenance of thorough and accurate production records
· Kitchen cleaning, sanitation and maintenance, including dishes
· Ability to communicate professionally and efficiently with kitchen aide, vendors, supervisors, and coworkers
· Observance of food allergies and restrictions
· Kitchen ordering and inventory using FIFO method
· Consultation with education staff to facilitate classroom cooking activities
· Preparation of food for special center activities
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Fill in as Cook in other centers, if necessary
· Perform other related duties, as necessary
· Supervision of children is everyone’s job responsibility

Qualifications:
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or GED.
ServSafe Manager Certification
Desirable: Experience in batch cooking, familiarity with the Child and Adult Care Food Program, allergy safety training
