Are you looking for a fun, rewarding career in Early Childhood Education? We are looking for dedicated, reliable, and motivated people with a passion for working with children at our West Warwick center – located on the West Warwick/East Greenwich line.

Who We Are:
The purpose of The Academy for Little Children is to provide high quality responsive care and a learning environment for children between the ages of 6 weeks and 10 years old. We offer an educational program based upon developmentally appropriate practices in order to help the children develop a strong foundation and gain a positive attitude toward learning. We focus on the children’s cognitive, socioemotional and physical growth in order to promote an integrated and effective approach to learning. We maintain a warm, loving environment to instill in the children that this is a place where they can trust, be happy and feel secure.

What You Will Do:

As a teacher at The Academy for Little Children, you will join a family of educators dedicated to helping each child succeed. Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Monthly and daily lesson planning
Assessment of students
Daily communication with families
Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized classroom
Maintaining compliance with DCYF, DHS, and BrightStars standards
Following center policies
Working with coworkers as an active team member

Qualifications:
Everyone has their own unique talents, individual areas of strength, background, and personality, and we strongly encourage our teachers to utilize these traits to help themselves, other teachers – and most importantly, the children – succeed. With that in mind, we do have the following requirements and preferences for applicants:

Minimum of 1 years working with Infants (6 weeks – 18 months old).
Must have taken, or be willing to take, RIELDS Foundations and Curriculum courses
Must complete 20 hours of professional development per year
Must possess excellent work attendance
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
