Job Title: Marketing and Communications Specialist
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Regular/Temp: Full-time
SUMMARY
The Marketing and Communications Specialist will develop and nurture relationships between RIAEYC, members of the media, our funders and our stakeholders. This individual should have exceptional writing and public speaking skills to represent RIAEYC across various platforms. Other duties include researching target audiences, recording data from communications plans and activities and overseeing RIAEYC’s social media channels to ensure brand uniformity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Graphic Design and Event Support
- Develop and execute visually compelling collateral for a range of events and activities.
- Provide collaborative support in planning and executing events such as professional development and trainings hosted by RIAEYC: Rhode Island Early Childhood Conference and Strolling Thunder Rally, Week Of Young Child and other events.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure events and all materials needed align with our mission and vision.
Content Creation and Maintenance
- Develop social media content and execute a content schedule across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn to engage our audience, and promote upcoming events.
- Design and create a RIAEYC Annual Report featuring successes of all programs each year.
Maintain Online Presence and Media Relationships - Facilitate all website design and ongoing edits and updates to maintain an up-to-date and vibrant online presence.
- Track digital marketing analytics and adjust messaging and posts accordingly for all programs managed by RIAEYC, Brightstars, TEACH, Registered Apprenticeship and WAGE$
- Lead the development and distribution of media advisories.
- Manage public relations at events, ensuring a positive and inclusive representation of RIAEYC.
General Marketing and Communications
- Collaborate with leadership in creating, implementing and tracking team goals.
- Maintain marketing budget
- Reporting and inventory maintenance of materials for DHS
- Support with affiliate relationship and membership marketing and WOYC including adherence to national branding guidelines
- Outreach, development, and maintenance of community partnerships
Scheduling and Coordinating staffing for community events with support from Director of Operations - Photography to capture work done in the community, at events, trainings, workplaces, and staff headshots for website.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and Experience Requirements:
• BA degree in marketing or communications or a related field
• Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with developing and implementing marketing and
communications strategies using digital marketing analytics to assess online behavior and fine-tune
messaging.
• Portfolio showcasing collateral and metrics demonstrating increased brand awareness, engagement, and
tangible results.
• Proficiency in Canva or other design platforms, video/sound editing software, social media
management, and email marketing platforms.
• Experience or personal knowledge of quality childcare program(s) preferred
