Position Description:
The Van Driver is responsible for safely transporting children between local schools and the program center. The Van Driver must ensure that children arrive safely, on time, and in a supportive environment. The driver maintains a safe vehicle, follows all transportation policies, and communicates effectively with other program staff.
Qualifications:
*21 years of age or older, must be able to obtain a chauffeur’s license.
*Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
*Experience working with children preferred, but not required.
*Ability to pass required background checks and clearances.
*Ability to sit for extended periods while driving.
*Ability to assist children entering and exiting the vehicle.

This position is part-time. 20-24 hours a week.
Key Responsibilities:
*Safely transport children to and from Warwick and Cranston Public schools and the program center according to a scheduled route.
*Conduct daily vehicle safety checks before and after each route.
*Ensure all children are properly seated and following safety rules while in the vehicle.
*Maintain accurate attendance and transportation records for children during pick-up and drop-off.
*Follow all traffic laws, licensing requirements, and program transportation policies.
*Communicate with program staff regarding attendance, schedule changes or any concerns during transportation.
*Report any accidents, incidents, or vehicle maintenance issues immediately to program administration.
*Maintain a clean and orderly vehicle.
*Foster a positive and respectful environment for children during transportation.
Work Schedule:
Part-Time, typically mornings and afternoons during the school year, aligned with Warwick and Cranston Public school schedules. Average schedule for van driver is 7:00am-9:00am and 2:00pm to 4:00pm. Hours may be adjustable if needed.
