Position Description:
Job Summary
Responsible for transporting children in a BGCW 14-passenger vehicle to and from the BGCW and schools. Provide supervision and ensure the safety and general well-being of the children.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
Check children on and off the mini bus using a BGCW attendance record. Check children in with an adult at the Club
Supervise children at all times, bringing them into the school when you need to pick up or check on other children. Never leave children unattended in the vehicle.
Shut off the van when picking up or dropping off children. Take the key and lock the vehicle.
Welcome each child to the BGCW vehicle, assist with opening and closing the bus door as children board and depart the bus
Ensure that the children are wearing seat belts. Check to make sure the bus is clear of all individuals or any obstructions before it departs.
Maintain order, discipline and noise level to avoid interference with driver concentration and ensure safety. Pull the bus over when disciplining disruptive children. Ensure that no food or drink is allowed on the bus.
Drive the BGCW bus in a safe manner obeying all traffic laws and BGCW procedures for operating a child care vehicle.
During School year:
Split Shift = Monday – Friday 7:30am-9:00am / 1:30-3:30pm*
Rate of pay: $18.00 /hour
*additional hours during afternoons, evenings, weekends may be available in other areas of the Club (Childcare, Gym Rental supervision, etc) at the Non driving rate $15/hour
Qualifications:
Requirements: Must be 21 years of age with a valid Rhode Island Chauffeur’s License or willing to get a Rhode Island Chauffeur’s License at club cost. Must have a clean driving record. Must be able to communicate effectively with children and adults.
Must pass necessary clearances: BCI check, CANTS Clearance and Drug Testing
NO CDL required
Chauffeur's License Required
